7th Grade Preview Day

Join us on Friday, February 17, 2012, for our 7th Grade Preview Day!  Visit with LHSS students, parents and staff about the Lutheran South experience.  Learn how our academic program will prepare your child for success in college.  Learn about our opportunities for faith and Christian leadership development.  Ask questions and get information specific to the needs of your child.

Seventh grade parents are invited to attend with or without their student depending on school commitments.  Choose the best time for you:

Session #1:  10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Session #2:  1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Session #3: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

LHSS Talent Show Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the LHSS Talent Show, seniors Dana Kaempfe, Liz O'Leary, Amanda Behnke and Lauren Dalton, who sang "Somewhere Only We Know" before a supportive crowd at the event on Sunday, January 22. The Talent Show, sponsored by National Honor Society, raised just over $1000 for Gateway 180, a homeless shelter for women and children. It was a great night for all the performers!
 
The "Beautiful" Conference

"Beautiful: True Beauty in a Cosmetic World" is a 2-day conference/fashion show/concert encouraging  women & teen girls to experience true beauty in their identity in Christ.  Highlighted are author & speaker, Shelley Noonan & 2010 Dove Award nominee for Artist of the Year, Jonny Diaz, author & singer of "More Beautiful You". Men's Club Texas Hold'em Event

The Lutheran South Men’s Club 2nd Annual Texas Hold’em Poker tournament is scheduled for Saturday, February 18 at 5 p.m.  The cost is $50 per person and includes food and drinks.  Prizes include an Ultimate BBQ Pit, Flat Screen TV and tickets to Cardinals and Blues Games.  Proceeds benefit Lutheran South.  To register, call Mike Meyer at 314.631.1400 ext. 108.  For more information, see this flyer:  Texas Holdem Poster 2012

 
Class of 2016 Admissions Process Underway

Are you interested in being a Lancer?  The admissions process for the Class of 2016 is underway.  Families who schedule an Educational Success Consultation with principal Brian Ryherd and submit their application materials before December 31, 2011, can save $50 on the registration fee.  NOTE:  Mr. Ryherd will be available for consultations on Thursday, December 29, and Friday, December 30.  To make your appointment, contact Mrs. Jayne Lauer, Director of Admissions & Community Relations at 314-631-2842, ext. 426.

Academic Team Competes

The LHSS Academic Team competed on Saturday, January 7th in a 30-team DeSmet Invitational Tournament and placed fourth.  Kyle Moellenhoff received a 7th place individual medal for points scored.  Other team members participating were Ian Crane, Jacob Loesche, Grace Bishop, and Brendan Murphy.  Congratulations!
