COLLEGE TESTING INFORMATION 

The ACT and SAT test dates and registration deadlines are given below. Registration materials are available in the Guidance Center. Seniors should take the first tests scheduled. Juniors will want to take one or both tests in spring of their junior year. The LHSS school code number is 262987. This school code number is sometimes called the CEEB number.

The SAT Reasoning Test now includes a required essay. For the ACT an Essay component is an available option. Now students will have to ask colleges/universities if the Essay is an admission requirement. 

Lutheran High School-South is an ACT test center for the September, October, February, April, and June ACT test dates. The ACT test-center code number for Lutheran South is 202360. This test center code is used in Section N on the ACT registration folder. Registration materials for the ACT and SAT are available in the Guidance Center. 

The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary-SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered on  October  12, 2011. Juniors will be given information about registration. Upon registering for the PSAT, students receive a PSAT bulletin which provides test-taking hints and sample tests. The PSAT is the only qualifying test for National Merit Scholarships. Juniors must score in the top 1% of PSAT junior test takers in order to qualify for National Merit Scholarships
