All State Music Results

Lutheran South was honored to have nine entries compete in instrumental music at the State level on Saturday, December 3.   Over 1000 students from across the entire state of Missouri competed in Columbia, Missouri, and less than 10% of those that audition are actually selected for state recognition.  We are proud to announce the following results:

Tyler Sanft (French Horn), Craig Butler (bassoon), Nathan McCord (jazz drummer), and Kyle Hopfer (trombone) were selected to play “call-back” auditions.  Tyler, Craig, and Nathan were all named to the State of Missouri “Honorable Mention” Band.  Congratulations!!!

Music Students Excel

Congratulations to the Lancer music students on their outstanding performances!

Nine South choir members participated in the Metro 8 District Choir auditions in October, 2011.  Senior Ben Vanderhyde and junior Emily Robinson were selected to District Choir; Ben was also selected for the All State Choir.

Lutheran South qualified 10 out of 18 entries in the District Band competition this year.  This is the highest number of students from any parochial or private school in our district!  These students are now eligible to advance to State competition and audition for the Missouri All-State Band:

Sarah Cooksey, flute; Erin Grev, flute; Craig Butler, bassoon; Leigh Wayman, clarinet (alternate); Tyler Sanft, French horn; Jonathan Roussin, French horn; Alex Munton, trumpet; Kyle Hopfer, trombone; Nathan Senkbeil, trombone; Nathan McCord, percussion & Jazz Band alternate.
