Baseball Players Honored

Congratulations to the Lancer Varsity baseball players who were named All-State for their performances in the District, Sectional and Quarterfinal games for the 2009 season: senior Brad Vogelsmeier, infield, and junior Michael Krumm, pitcher.

LHSS Golf Tournament

Mark your calendar for the annual Lutheran South Golf Tournament to benefit the LHSS Athletic Department. The date is Monday, September 14, at Pevely Farms Golf Club. For more information, click here.

First Day of School

The first day of school for the 2009-2010 school year is Monday, August 17. School begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.

Student schedules for the upcoming school year will be mailed about August 1.

Fall Sports Practices & Tryouts

Lutheran South fall sports teams will begin practices and tryouts on Monday, August 10, 2009. For information about specific times for each sports, contact the Lutheran South office at 314-631-1400.

Freshman & Transfer Orientation

All new students and their parents are invited to attend the Freshmen & Transfer Orientation on Wednesday, August 12, at 7 p.m. at Lutheran South. Freshman and their parents are encouraged to come early to participate in the traditional "video introduction." More information will be in the August newsletter.

Fall Sports Meeting & Code of Behavior Meeting

All fall sports athletes and a parent are required to attend the Fall Sports Meeting and Code of Behavior meeting on Thursday, August 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Athletes who plan to play a winter or spring sport may also attend this first Code of Behavior meeting.

Summer Office Hours

Summer office hours at Lutheran South are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Summer Reading List 2009

Summer provides an opportunity for Lutheran South students and their families to enjoy reading. Before entering each grade, an LHSS student is encouraged to read as many of the listed books as possible. Students may substitute other titles by recommended authors. For the complete list, click here.

LHSS Alums in the Armed Services

If you are a Lutheran South alum in the armed services or know someone who is, please contact Mrs. Jayne Lauer at LHSS, 314-631-1400 or jlauer@lhssonline.org. We have a bulletin board dedicated to the those serving and would like to keep it as updated as possible. We also would like to include these men and women in our prayers.

Class of 2013 

The Class of 2013 Freshman Orientation is Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Lutheran South, beginning at 7 p.m. 

Application are still being accepted for the Class of 2013. If you would like application materials mailed to you, please contact Mrs. Jayne Lauer as specified below. You may also pick up an application packet at LHSS or find the materials under "More Admissions Info" here on our website. 

The Tuition Assistance priority deadline is March 1, 2009. Applications for tution assistance are processed through FACTS; paper applications are available in the Lutheran South office or you may apply online at www.factstuitionaid.com. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Matt Marty, 314-631-1400, ext. 102. 

Congratulations to the Class of 2013 Explore and Excellence Award winners! Their names are posted under "More Admissions Info", Scholarships/Awards. 

Transfer Students 

Openings are available in the sophomore, junior, and senior classes at Lutheran South. Interested students may request an application by contacting the LHSS Recruitment Office at 314-631-2842, ext. 426. 

I-20 Visa Students 

Lutheran South has been approved to issue I-20 Visas to international students who meet the LHSS admission requirements and wish to enroll. For more information, contact Mrs. Jayne Lauer as listed below. 

Shadow Days 

If you are an eighth grade student or transfer student interested in attending Lutheran High School South, you are invited to schedule a Shadow Day to get a glimpse of what high school can be like for you as a Lancer. Please ask your parents to contact the LHSS Recruitment Office at 631-2842, ext. 426.
